This Sunday is the Sign-up Deadline for the Valleyfair Trip which is this Saturday (bad weather day July 28^th), leaving at 8 am. Sign-up sheets and waiver forms in the entrance. Call Mari Momberg with questions 641-420-0486.

50^th Birthday Open House for Julie Fredrickson, Saturday, July 27 from 1:30 to 4:00, in the church basement. Cards may be sent to Ken Fredrickson, 4188 Vine Ave., Kensett, IA 50448.

Deadline for College Students for the Erna Pagel Grant is August 31. Stop in the office for an application.

Blood Drive – Monday, July 22, VFW Post 6779 in Northwood from 1:30 – 6:30. Bring your blood donor card or photo ID. Appointments 641-324-2302, walk-ins encouraged.

Polka Service, join us here next Sunday as we step outside our usual worship service to celebrate God with a different tune. Several of our members will be part of the Polka Band.

School Supply sales have started. One of our women’s ongoing projects is making School Kits for Lutheran World Relief. Supplies needed are Notebook-70 sheets, wide or college ruled; Ruler-30 centimeter, or cm on one side and inches on the other; Pencil Sharpener; Blunt Scissors; #2 Pencil with eraser; Ballpoint Pen-black or blue (no gel ink); Crayon-box of 16 or 24; Eraser-2 ½”. You may leave your items by the coat rack. Financial contributions are also appreciated.

Progressive Organ Concert, today, with Glenn Henriksen. 1:30 pm at Zion Lutheran in Ruthven, IA, with ice cream social from 4-7 pm. For more information see Sue Walk.

Traveling Academy for Evangelism and Discipleship on July 24th at Emmanuel. We are pleased to be one of four congregations in our Mission District to host Bishop Bradosky, pan-Lutheran clergy and lay leaders from our area for a day of learning and sharing in our efforts to bring the Gospel of Christ into the world. Everyone is invited for the evening session on 7/24 from 6:30-9:00 PM. Leadership folks: please look for you invitation in the near future. If you have questions, please speak to Pastor Z.

Sign up Deadline – July 21 – Valleyfair Adventure Park Trip – Saturday, July 27th (bad weather day July 28^th), leaving at 8 am. Entrance for Emmanuel’s Youth and Sunday School students is free; tickets for family and friends joining the trip are $25.50. Our condolences to the family of Gene Nack who’s funeral was Monday.

Announcements

The Altar flowers are in joyful celebration of the reuniting of the St. Ansgar High School class of 1963. Many had not see each other in 50 years! Some members of the class from our congregation (confirmation class of 1959) who were able to attend were: Dan Rohr, Marie (Buechele) Blom, Susan Novak, Sharon (Rosenberg) Parcel, Pat Rosenberg, Sharon (Bartz) Anderson, Janice (Diedrich) Morrison and Charlotte (Borchert) Cole. It truly was a “golden” opportunity to be together again.

The flower arrangement is in honor of Albert and Doris Ralph’s 56^th Wedding Anniversary which is June 9th. Congratulations!

Membership Directory – sign-up now. Photo sessions are Thursday, June 27 & Friday, June 28 from 2–9 pm & Saturday, June 29 from 9 am–3:30 pm. Have your photo taken, and receive a free 8 x 10 portrait and a directory. Please do not delay your sign-up! Please note: we strongly believe that concerns regarding high-pressured sales are not warranted and we have taken measures to counteract any such practices. Please see Linda Kroneman or Pastor Z if you have continued concerns.

Vacation Bible School – You can still register to attend. Contact the office if you need a form.

Valleyfair Adventure Park Trip –  the Youth Group, Sunday School and families are invited to go on July 27th with bad weather day to be on July 28th. More details will be in the entrance.

New Member Reception will be on June 30^th. Please speak with Pastor Z by June 20th, if you are planning on joining our faith community.

Sunday Fellowship Sign-up sheets are now on the kiosk. You can bring food and/or help. We thank all those who contribute and help!
